Sage – salvia officinalis

The Sage herb is hugely popular in Britain – ‘Sage and Onion’, ‘Pork and Sage’ to name but two famous combinations. The Sage plant is another herb with an ancient history both for cooking and medicinal properties.

Sage leaves, both fresh and dried, is ideal for cooking. And like all herbs Sage gives off wonderful aromas not only when chopped up in the kitchen but also a gentle aroma when brushing against the plant.
